Boden and Karlskrona have applied for an exemption to be outside the current TV agreement in hockey.

They would rather broadcast the matches themselves, which has led to several opponents choosing to boycott the events against the mentioned teams.

It has now become an issue for the IHF, which during the evening had a meeting with RF on the issue.

- This is primarily not an RF issue, but rather an issue between the Ice Hockey Association and the Swedish Sports Council (RIN), which is our highest court.

I have said three things that are relevant, says RF's chairman Björn Eriksson to SVT Sport and continues:

- The first is to get the matches started again.

It is an emergency situation and it is bad when matches are not played.

The second is: decide on the exemption application, which is formal so that it does not become an intermediate situation that time passes and you become unsure of what applies.

Can be helpful

The third point is to "put out the fire", says Eriksson, who points out that it is about solving the first two issues.

- When that fire is extinguished, I can imagine that we can be helpful with a long-term solution.

I and many with me think that this has to do with how the construction looks, but you have to clear the first questions first.

- We believe that if you sit down and talk, you should be able to start the matches.

This should not affect sports.

Can order changes to competition regulations

Getting the matches started should not be insurmountable, according to Eriksson.

He believes that it is quite natural to decide what applies in the exemptions so that there is an opportunity to, if necessary, appeal decisions made.

- A question that has been raised is whether we intend to order changes in the competition regulations or otherwise, which we can do, but our answer has been that sensible forces can solve this in a more pragmatic way than threatening with legal clauses.

Are you on the side of Boden and Karlskrona or the hockey association?

- I'm on the side of sports.

I think you should find a solution if you are a little practical.

- Now it is as if the parties are blocking each other.
