'Racist masses' subject to life ban in Italy

The Italian Football League wants to take stricter measures against racist fans and permanently ban them from entering football stadiums.

This was announced by Paulo Dal Pino, president of the association, on Radio "Rai".

Italian football has long had a big problem with racism.

"We are working on an agreement to impose a lifetime ban on those found guilty of racism, not on one stadium but on all stadiums," Dal Pino said.

He suggested setting up a "respect room" next to the VAR room, where racist acts would be recorded.
