Both Julia Zigiotti Olme and Emma Kullberg had to start on the bench when Häcken played 0-0 against AIK yesterday and lost the chance to salvage the Swedish Championship gold.

Zigiotti Olme came on in the 88th minute while Kullberg remained on the bench throughout the match.

According to Sportbladet, the bench is due to the fact that neither Zigiotti Olme nor Kullberg extended their contracts with the club.

- We were told that the reason why we did not play today was because we did not extend with the club, says Julia Zigiotti Olme to Sportbladet.

The players' agent Michael Kallbäck at Neverland Management will provide the information.

- The players were told before the match against AIK that they will not start playing due to the situation they are in. I have understood it as if it was Mats Gren who told the players, but my opinion is that it comes from above.

Häcken's management has said that they may focus on playing together another team in the Champions League, which I can understand, but putting two national team players, who still have agreements with the club, on the bench against AIK feels strange, says Kallbäck.

Kallbäck confirms that the players, whose contract expires in November, are on their way to a new club.

Häcken's coach Mats Gren denies that the contract situation would be behind the bench.

- We have had a bit throughout the season that we rotated a bit when we had so many matches.

That was the reason now too, says Gren.

Rosengård secured the Swedish Championship gold yesterday after a victory against Piteå with 3-2.
