Guardiola urges players to receive vaccinations to prevent corona

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola encouraged his players to receive vaccinations to prevent Covid-19, after the recent increase in the number of cases in Britain.

On Sunday, Britain recorded 45,140 new cases of Covid-19, the largest daily number of infections since mid-July.

The data showed that the country recorded 57 more deaths within 28 days of testing positive for the disease.

Guardiola did not comment on the position of vaccinations in the team in order to preserve privacy, but confirmed that he and his family had received the vaccine.

"I have my own opinions, but I trust doctors and scientists. If they say it's the best way to protect people, we must do it," Guardiola told a press conference on the eve of the Champions League clash with Club Brugge.

"My family and I have already been vaccinated," he added. "The doctors will talk to the players individually and then they have to decide.

He stressed: "We are still seeing the number of deaths, injuries and suffering in England. We have to move forward, stay safe, be careful, use masks and receive vaccinations for personal and community health."
