While Arminia Bielefeld was celebrated by his around 500 supporters who had traveled with him, the players of FC Augsburg tormented themselves in front of the standing room at home.

The lackluster 1: 1 at the end of the 8th matchday of the Bundesliga aroused different feelings in both clubs.

"The feeling is really shitty now - a second unfocused," said the disappointed FCA kicker Mads Pedersen with a view of the late equalizer by guest player Jacob Laursen.

Bielefeld captain Manuel Prietl, however, spoke of a point won due to the weak first 45 minutes of his team. "Fortunately, we found the right plug in the second half," summed up the 30-year-old Austrian on the DAZN streaming service. At the same time, Prietl also knows that just a good half is not enough to leave the relegation places. "We won't get very far like this," he stated.

Augsburg had dominated the basement duel for a long time after the 1-0 lead by Reece Oxford and had a chance of a preliminary decision.

"You can see that we are having a hard time winning games," said head coach Markus Weinzierl and immediately turned his gaze to the trend-setting games against FSV Mainz 05 and VfL Bochum.

"We'll have to pick up the two points that we left behind in the next few weeks."

But for the time being, the Swabians remain on relegation place 16. A win out of eight games - that's the meager yield of the Weinzierl team.

Together with Bielefeld and four goals each, they form the weakest offensive in the league.

For Arminia, who are still in penultimate place in the table and thus directly behind FC Augsburg, a huge test of strength awaits next Saturday in Borussia Dortmund.

Coach Frank Kramer then hopes for “this burning” and “this passion”, which his team demonstrated against Augsburg in the second half.
