The Kenyan Elisha Rotich won, Sunday, October 17, the Paris marathon under a bright sun, in 2 hours 4 minutes and 23 seconds, while in the ladies, the Ethiopian Tigist Memuye won the race, in the absence of the big names in the discipline.
Thanks to this time, Rotich, 31, improves the record of the Parisian event, held since 2014 by the Ethiopian Kenenisa Bekele (2 h 5 min 4 sec).

Ethiopian Hailemaryam Kiros and another Kenyan, Hillary Kipsambu, finished second and third, 19 and 21 seconds behind the winner, respectively.

Among the women, a trio of Ethiopians took the podium in a pocket handkerchief, Tigist Memuye leading in 2 hours 26 minutes and 12 seconds, ahead of Yenenesh Dinkesa and Fantu Jimma, respectively 3 and 10 seconds behind. Memuye.
