Luiz Felipe apologized on Saturday evening just after Lazio's victory over Internazionale in the Serie A (3-1).

The Brazilian took a red card after the final whistle in a bizarre way by jumping on the back of opponent Joaquín Correa.

24-year-old Felipe ran towards Correa just after the final whistle and celebrated Lazio's victory by jumping provocatively on the back of the Argentine player from Internazionale, who made the switch from Lazio to Inter last summer.

That action earned Felipe the red card from referee Massimiliano Irrati and also caused a riot between Inter and Lazio players.

Felipe could not believe the red card and left the field in Rome in tears.

"I'd like to say something about what happened," Felipe wrote on Instagram.

"First of all I want to make it clear that I have a lot of respect for Inter or any other club. We are all professionals and we would never fail to respect another professional."

"At the end of the game, I jumped on Tucu's (nickname of Correa, ed.) shoulders because he is one of the great friends football has given me. Our families are friends and we have always been very

. That's where I wanted him I prefer to cuddle and joke about the result, but I got excited."

Felipe is disappointed with his action afterwards.

"I apologize to anyone who has been offended and I clarify that I have in no way tried to be disrespectful to Correa, to other players or to the Inter Milan fans."
