The exceptional American ski racer Mikaela Shiffrin has set herself great goals for the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing in February 2022.

"I already dream of starting in every discipline in China," said the 26-year-old Olympic champion from 2014 and 2018 in a question and answer session with journalists a week before the World Cup kick-off in Sölden.

However, she also knows about the extreme mental and physical preparation that such a packed racing program would entail.

At the same time, the long-time dominator does not want to neglect the World Cup races.

“Another dream is to compete for overall victory in the World Cup again,” said Shiffrin, who finished fourth last winter.

She does not know whether this goal is realistic for this season - "but I will give everything to race for the podium in every discipline," said the winner of 69 World Cup races that focused on technology last year - had placed competitions.

After the ski races in North America were canceled last season due to the corona pandemic, Shiffrin is now especially looking forward to her home race in Killington (USA).

“It's just an indescribable atmosphere to drive at home.

I missed that a lot last year, ”said the 26-year-old.
