As recently as 2019, Ingvild Flugstad Östberg secured the overall victory in the World Cup.

The following season she finished fifth.

But since then, the 30-year-old has not been seen in the world elite.

She missed the whole of last season due to health problems, but this Olympic season the idea is that she will be back.

Now she is stopped from going to high altitude camps to Livigno and Val Senales.

- It is the same for everyone who will represent the Norwegian Ski Association.

You must have an approved health protocol.

I hope we get to see her on the starting line this winter and in the Olympics, says Bjervig.

"Takes into account the situation"

The Norwegian national team doctor Öystein Andersen talks about the rider's own view of the decision:

- She had obviously wished she was there.

There is no doubt about that.

We had that too.

But she also believes that it is best for us to do it this way and takes the situation into account.

It is well handled by Ingvild, he says.
