About two thousand spectators will be able to attend the matches of the new season of the Egyptian Football League, after it was held behind closed doors due to the Corona pandemic, according to what the Professional Clubs Association announced today. The president of the association, Ahmed Diab, said in a speech during the activities of the draw for the 2021-2022 season, “There is no football without an audience, and we dream of its return, after we reached an agreement with the Ministry of Interior to experience the return of fans in the first match of the new season, and the number will be two thousand fans, at a rate of one thousand for each club".
Al-Ahly will meet with Al-Ismaili at the opening of the season, while Zamalek will meet with Enppi in the first stage of the league, which begins on October 25.
Today's draw also resulted in an early summit between the traditional rivals Al-Ahly and Zamalek in the third stage.
18 clubs are participating in the league this season, including the newly promoted trio: Farco, Al Sharqiya for Dukhan, and Future FC (formerly Coca-Cola).
Zamalek had won the league title in its last edition, ahead of Al-Ahly by 4 points.
