Because of the injury, learn about the matches that Al-Ahly goalkeeper El-Shennawy will miss

Ahmed Abu Abla, head of the medical staff of the Al-Ahly club, which competes in the Egyptian Premier League, announced today, Tuesday, that its goalkeeper, Mohamed El-Shennawy, captain of the team, will miss matches for a period of up to five weeks, after he was injured while playing with Egypt in the World Cup qualifiers.

El-Shennawy was injured in his country's 3-0 victory over its host Libya in the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup on Monday.

Abu Abla said, "Al-Shennawy took an x-ray today after the team arrived in Cairo, and it was found that there was a rupture of the hamstring muscle that requires a treatment period of four to five weeks."

He added to Al-Ahly website, "Al-Shennawi is now undergoing a treatment and rehabilitation program during the coming period to prepare him to return again to participate in training and official matches."

Thus, El-Shennawy will miss two matches for Al-Ahly in the African Champions League, as well as several matches in the new season of the Egyptian Premier League, which begins on October 25.

Doubts are also swirling about his joining the Egyptian national team's matches against Angola and Gabon in the fifth and sixth rounds of the World Cup qualifiers.
