Thanks to the youngsters Kevin Schade and Malik Tillman, Antonio Di Salvo extended his perfect start as U21 national coach with the second win in the second game.

The selection of the German Football Association won 5: 1 (2: 1) in Hungary on Tuesday and thus got their fourth victory in the fourth game in the European Championship qualification.

The German offspring also defended the table lead in the qualification group, from which only the winner can directly get the ticket for the upcoming tournament in Georgia and Romania in 2023.

In front of around 2000 spectators in Szeged, it was again the Freiburg Schade (5th minute) and the Munich Tillman (32nd) who initiated the victory with their goals. The two 19-year-olds last celebrated their U21 debut in a 3-2 win against Israel and their goals played a key role in Di Salvo's debut success in Paderborn. The 42-year-old head coach also relied on the duo in his second game as the successor to Stefan Kuntz and was rewarded - Schade (90th) ensured the final point with his second goal to make it 5-1.

Against Hungary, Schade and Tillman swirled together with captain Jonathan Burkardt and striker Erik Shuranov on the offensive. Shuranov made the German success perfect after the break with his first U21 goal when he deflected a failed break from Hungarian defender Dominik Csontos into the goal (54th). Substitute Tom Krauss increased to 4: 1 (66th) before Schade scored for the second time. The only goal for the hosts was previously scored by Tamas Kiss (39th).

Schade rewarded the European champions with his rebound hit to make it 1-0 early for a dominant early phase.

The German selection continued to play consistently forward, but could not quite build on the strong first minutes.

Only in the middle of the second half did the strong Bayern professional Tillman increase for the guests after a nice combination over Burkardt, Shuranov and Schade.

The Hungarians, against whom the DFB selection won 3-0 in the preliminary round on their way to the European Championship title in 2021, waited for mistakes by their opponents and played quite bravely.

Over time, the hosts came into play better and better, but the German defense was mostly secure.

Only shortly before the break did the Hungarians reward each other and use a perfectly played counterattack to hit the ball with Kiss.

Even after the break, the DFB juniors had to survive one or the other tricky situation and were lucky that the Hungarians helped with the ricochet from Csontos in the 3-1 by Shuranov.

With the fourth hit by his Nuremberg club colleague Krauss and again Schade, the game was finally decided.
