Tyson Fury has defended the WBC boxing association's world heavyweight title.

On Saturday (local time), the Briton managed to knock out the American Deontay Wilder in an exhausting battle after eleven rounds.

It was the third duel between the two stars of the scene.

“It was a great fight.

I've always said I'm the best boxer in the world, I've shown that and he's second best, ”said Fury.

Previously, there had been a draw in December 2018 and a knockout win for Fury in February 2020.

While this remains undefeated, Wilder did not leave the ring as the winner for the third time in his 45th fight.

It could have been his last appearance, because the boxer from Manchester had announced in advance that he wanted to retire his US opponent.

Right hook at the end

This time it was initially an open exchange of blows, so that the spectators in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas got their money's worth.

Wilder went down for the first time on lap three, and only one lap later Fury was unable to stand on his feet.

Both bit their teeth before the conditioning factor increasingly played a role for Wilder.

After six rounds, the referees saw Fury slightly ahead and the 33-year-old kept pushing.

On lap ten, Wilder got it for the fourth time.

His opponent sensed the chance and already jerked his arms up, confident of victory, but Wilder got up again.

One lap later, however, the 35-year-old was finally beaten after a right hook.
