Cristiano Ronaldo legally wins the "rape case"... and the reason is strange

The Spanish newspaper "Marca" revealed a court ruling in the United States issued yesterday, which ended the rape case brought by former American model, Catherine Mayorga and her lawyer, against Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo.

The judge in charge of investigating the case, which was filed in a Nevada US court, confirmed that there is no legal basis for Mayorga to demand new huge compensation from Ronaldo, for the "allegations of rape" that she says she was subjected to during a meeting with Ronaldo in a Las Vegas hotel in 2009.

The judge considered that the case was closed, and the reason was strange, as it was related to a legal error committed by Mayorga’s lawyer, Leslie Stovall and his law firm, after he leaked stolen documents belonging to Ronaldo, his lawyer, and directed them to the media in an earlier period to obtain media gains and pressure Ronaldo, who is What the court considered unacceptable behavior, torpedoing the case from the ground up, and hitting all judicial procedures.

On the other hand, Ronaldo's chief lawyer, Peter Christensen, said that they were pleased with the court's decision, and that the case had no basis in the first place, and demanded that all matters related to the case be quickly ended, and that it be formally and permanently closed.

The court confirmed that it did not find any conclusive evidence confirming that Ronaldo raped Mayorga, and therefore did not see any justification for new financial claims or officially accusing Ronaldo of rape, and thus put an end to the desire of the former American model to obtain huge financial compensation from Ronaldo.

The court also officially and legally decided that Mayorga had received $375,000, as a settlement in 2010, in order to remain silent in the case, which Mayorga agreed to at the time, before reopening the case again two years ago.
