In tears, 27-year-old ski jumper Maren Lundby, who took Olympic gold on a normal hill in Pyeongchang 2018, tells NRK that she is over the coming season.
And especially miss the Winter Olympics in Beijing.
- It's very heavy.
I think it's a good choice, and I do it to take care of myself, not to take any shortcuts.
I know that I have always been very careful to do things properly, and I intend to continue with that, she says.
The reason she decided to give up is that she does not feel ready to lose weight to keep the weight off.
- Extreme demands are placed on different things in ski jumping, and weight is one of them.
