Algerian football legend Rabah Madjer appears in court

Algerian football legend Rabah Madjer, former coach of the Algerian national team, appeared today before the investigative judge at the Sidi M'hamed Court in the Algerian capital.

The local newspaper, An-Nahar, revealed on its website that Majer's appearance before the judiciary came as part of a series of ongoing investigations into the benefit of several local newspapers from government advertising funds, even without being printed or issued.

The same source indicated that Majer, who returned from the Qatari capital Doha a week ago, who owned Al-Balagh newspaper with a partner, which was published in the western city of Oran, submitted documents proving that the newspaper was printing and publishing at the time of benefiting from government advertisements before the investigating judge.

The same newspaper quoted Majer as saying that his appearance before the investigative judge was to provide him with the necessary documents, stressing that during the period of his management of the newspaper he paid taxes and printing dues on a regular basis, expressing his full confidence in the Algerian judiciary.

It is noteworthy that Majer withdrew on November 3, 2019 from "Al Balagh" newspaper, which was liquidated on April 28, 2020.
