Every day, Anicet Mbida makes us discover an innovation that could well change the way we consume.

This Wednesday, he is interested in an application allowing to warn the police or a relative as soon as one feels in danger.

Today's innovation is "guardian angel" functions that are coming to cell phones.

They allow you to warn the police or a loved one as soon as you feel in danger.

You come home alone late at night, and you get cornered by delinquents.

Just press the power button five times and the phone will automatically call an emergency number or send a message to a pre-stored contact.

This was the basic function we had on iPhones and Google Pixels.

From now on, we are going much further, since we can also automatically start an audio and video recording of everything that is happening.

And if you have 4G, the video will be sent directly to your emergency contacts, with the GPS position of your location.

Advantage: everything is triggered very discreetly.

We can therefore continue to use the device as if nothing had happened.

But you still have to take out your phone and press the buttons.

Sometimes we don't have time!

It's true.

But there are more and more options on these systems.

For example: triggering by voice by simply saying "I am being assaulted".

It can also be triggered by itself in the event of an accident.

The system will then rely on the microphone and the phone's motion sensor to detect a collision, a fall or the noise of crumpled sheet metal.

There is still a safeguard to avoid calling the emergency room for nothing: as soon as it detects an accident, it displays a message "Are you okay?".

He will only call for help if we have not answered within the minute.

Does it work on all phones?

No Unfortunately.

For now, it's only available on Google Pixel phones.

But since it is an application, the "Personal Security" application, it will gradually be offered to all Android phones on the market.
