Who would have thought, in the days of their epic if not ethical bike races, that Jan Ullrich and Lance Armstrong would become almost the best friends in the world?

Not us in any case.

But the trials of life, especially that of the German, eventually brought the two former rivals together.

At the lowest since an end of career precipitated by the doping cases in which his name appeared, the winner of the Tour de France 1997 had become a regular in the news section (for fighting with a neighbor in Mallorca and assault on an escort, among other feats of arms).

Today things are looking better for the late frontman Bianchi and T-Mobile, and part of it owes it to Armstrong, as he said on the microphone of The Move, the fallen American's podcast.

A hell of a comeback

“Three years ago I had big problems.

You came to see me.

I was glad you came.

I was on the same path as Marco Pantani, almost dead.

You and other friends brought me back to life.

Now I work out every day, drink water, quit alcohol and drugs three years ago.

I have a very healthy life.

My girlfriend makes me healthy meals.

"

Jan Ullrich had in particular received the visit of his best enemy when he was in a psychiatric hospital.

The latter tried to pay homage to the resurrection of his friend.

"When I see him here now and compare him to the man from three years ago: he's one of the biggest comebacks in the world."
