The sponsor company will give a reward of 8 million yen to the Japanese representative of wheelchair rugby who won the bronze medal for the second consecutive tournament at the Tokyo Paralympics.

This is the first time that the Japanese representative of wheelchair rugby has received a bounty from a company.

On August 29, the Japanese representative of Wheelchair Rugby won the bronze medal for the second consecutive tournament, beating Australia, which is ranked first in the world, in the third place playoff of the Tokyo Paralympics.



According to the Japan Wheelchair Rugby Federation, the sponsor company "Mitsui Fudosan" has decided to give a bounty of 8 million yen to the Japanese national team.



The bounty will be distributed among 12 players and 8 staff.



The Japanese national team won the first bronze medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games and won the world championship three years ago, but according to the federation, this is the time to receive a bounty from a company. It's the first time.



The federation commented, "I am glad and very grateful to the sponsor companies that have been supporting me on a regular basis for their activities. I would like to continue to devote myself to further progress."



The Japanese national team is strengthening for the World Championships to be held in Denmark next year.
