Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has won the Russian Grand Prix.

In the rain of Sochi on Sunday, the Mercedes driver relegated his Dutch World Cup rival Max Verstappen, who had started from the rear because of an engine change on his Red Bull, to second place.

Third place went to the Spaniard Carlos Sainz in a Ferrari.

With his 100th Grand Prix victory, the Briton Hamilton was again at the top of the overall standings.

Sebastian Vettel was twelfth in the Aston Martin without points.

Mick Schumacher retired early due to a technical defect on the Haas.
