Besiktas will probably not have Miralem Pjanic in the Champions League match against Ajax on Tuesday.

On the other hand, Michy Batshuayi can be used in the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

The 31-year-old Pjanic, who came over from FC Barcelona last summer, was injured after 32 minutes on Friday in the 2-1 lost league match against Altay.

"I don't think Pjanic can play the match against Ajax," said trainer Sergin Yalcin afterwards in the Bornova Stadium.

The likely absence of Pjanic, who has also played for Juventus, AS Roma and Olympique Lyon, is a major setback for Besiktas, who are struggling with more injuries.

Rachid Ghezzal, Welington Souza, Georges-Kévin Nkoudou, Domagoj Vida and Mehmet Topal are also sidelined.

Ghezzal, who came over from Leicester City for 3 million euros, is the most expensive purchase from the Turks this year.

"Necip Uysal, Michy Batshuayi, Valentin Rosier and Cyle Larin can compete against Ajax," said Yalcin.

The four were not yet available against Altay.

Belgian international Batshuayi was a match winner for Chelsea two years ago, which at the time won 1-0 in the Champions League against Ajax in the ArenA.
