Arne Slot expressed his support for Mark Koevermans on Friday.

The home of the Feyenoord director was recently attacked and the coach of the Rotterdam team is not happy with that.

The windows of Koevermans' front door were smashed by unknown persons in the night from Saturday to Sunday.

This has everything to do with Koevermans' role as champion of the Feyenoord City project.

According to that plan, a new Kuip is to be built on the Maas.

The possible arrival of a new stadium has kept Feyenoord's supporters busy for years.

Many supporters do not like a switch and want to stick to the current Kuip.

"If we play matches or in the day-to-day business, it does not affect us. But I do regret it greatly," Slot said on Friday at his press conference in the run-up to Saturday's home game against NEC about the events.

"People are allowed to have an opinion about what we do. But it must also stop there and it must not go on in such a way that you are even threatened in your home situation. I find that incredibly annoying, just as I found it incredibly annoying for Steven Berghuis ."

Berghuis received a lot of hate reactions and threats in recent months for his spicy transition from Feyenoord to Ajax.

The left leg also filed a report and recently indicated that the number of annoying messages has decreased.

Geertruida replaces Pedersen against NEC

Slot cannot appeal to Marcus Pedersen against NEC on Saturday.

The right back did not come out of Wednesday's home game against sc Heerenveen (3-1 win) unscathed and is missing against the Nijmegen team.

He is replaced by Lutsharel Geertruida.

"It is of course not pleasant that Pedersen is injured, but it is a luxury to have Lutsharel available," said Slot.

Geertruida was sidelined for months due to a knee injury, but is fit again.

Feyenoord-NEC starts on Saturday at 9 p.m. in De Kuip, which will be full again for the first time in over a year and a half.

Joey Kooij is the referee on duty.
