Växjö came to Gävle in good shape with two straight victories in the back to face a Brynäs who had two losses behind them.

But it took a while before the goals came.

After 26 goalless minutes, Växjö shocked the home crowd with two quick goals.

06.11 into the second period, Robert Rosén gave Växjö the lead when he sent in a return.

It took just over a minute before Julius Nättinen extended the lead to 2-0 through a shot from long range which then slid in behind Veini Vehviläinen in Brynäs.

- We must have patience and be disciplined when we enter our own zone.

We lose two unnecessary goals, said Brynäs coach Mikko Manner in C More before the third period.

Six goals by Brynäs in one period

But the Gävle team did not need to have much patience because after eleven minutes they had turned around and taken the lead.

After 13 seconds came the first reduction goal.

Captain Anton Rödin coaxed in 1-2 via the kitchen path.

Just three minutes later, the receipt came.

Oula Palve pulled on a shot that was controlled via Tomi Sallinen.

But Brynäs were hungry for victory today and just over 2.5 minutes later they took the lead through Chay Genoway.

But the goal feast was not over there.

Brynäs managed three more goals, two of which were in the open box and Växjö got two consolation goals.

The match ended 6-4.

"We do not play well"

- We do not play well and give away a lot.

We have guys who go out and play at 80% and have an agenda that is more about "my game" than about "our game".

An important lesson for us, says Sam Hallam in C More after the match.

Even in the premiere victory against Frölunda, Brynäs turned a disadvantage into a victory.

- It is a strength to be able to make these turns.

We always talk about working hard and today we do too, says Brynäs Nick Olesen in C More.

The 6-4 victory means that Brynäs took its first victory against Växjö since December 7, 2019.
