However, compared to the home courts of other European giants, Anfield's capacity is relatively small.
It is understood that this refurbishment of the stands will add 7,000 seats to Anfield, bringing the total capacity to more than 61,000 seats.
The alterations will be carried out intermittently during the season and will not affect the game.
The reconstructed Anfield stand is expected to be put into use in the 2023-24 season, and the design will build a new upper stand on the basis of the refurbished lower stand.
In addition to increasing the capacity, the grandstand will also improve reception facilities such as the lobby and lounge.
