Shikabala’s penalty reduced .. “from months to matches”

The Egyptian Football Association decided to reduce the penalty of Zamalek player Mahmoud Abdel Razek “Shikabala” from an eight-month ban and a fine of 500,000 pounds to eight matches and a fine of 250,000 pounds, after Shikabala issued a statement in the last match of the Egyptian League from a verbal altercation with the President of the Game Association, Ahmed Mujahid.

Shikabala had directed Mujahid with the phrase: “You are my people,” which the Football Association considered an insult to the impartiality of the President of the Football Association, and prompted him to take the strict punishment against the player who was angry during the celebration of Zamalek’s league title, during which the wives and children of the players were not allowed to go to the stadium to celebrate.

The Zamalek captain was unable to raise the league shield on the field, and left dissatisfied with the events that accompanied the last round of the tournament.
