Two teams in desperate need of points were pitted against each other in Örebro.

The home team had six matches in the Allsvenskan without a victory while table-toppers Östersund came from an impressive win over Elfsborg.

Initially, it was Örebro who controlled the match with their ball possession.

Östersund were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.

Turgott also got the best position of the first half when he met an entry with his foot - but the finish went just over the crossbar.

- We are a little careless but we are there.

We have to be more careful in the last pass.

We have to believe in it when we get opportunities and not just hope, says Örebro's Agon Mehmeti at half time to Discovery +.

Seven straight away loss

Östersund, with seven straight away losses, increased the tempo slightly in the second half, but without creating any real dangers.

In the final stage, both teams got several half chances and it looked to be goalless.

But then Örebro captain Nordin Gerzic stepped forward.

In the 79th minute he was substituted and just six minutes later Gerzic ran into the penalty area and scored 1-0 from close range.

In extra time, Martin Broberg punctured the match with his 2-0 goal for Örebro.

The victory means that Örebro now joins the team at the relegation line while Östersund is still table jumbo.
