The German Athletics Association (DLV) leads the ranking in the PotAS analysis of the 26 German summer sports.

The responsible commission in Berlin published its final report on Monday.

Compared to the interim results from 2019, the DLV (PotAS value: 80.73) improved by two ranks.

The same was achieved by the German Table Tennis Association (80.40), which landed in second place.

Third place went to the German Equestrian Association (79.40), which climbed 14 places.

In the interim report, the German Badminton Association (65.05) was still in first place, after the analysis was completed, the DBV dropped 14 places.

Last in the ranking of the associations is the German Basketball Federation (46.94).

Among the team sports, the German Hockey Association (sixth place / 73.72) performed best, the German Handball Association (70.07) rose by seven places to eleventh place.

The PotAS analysis is a core element of the funding reform in competitive sports, at the end of which there should be a more efficient use of funds.

Of the three decisive core parameters, however, only the structure and the management potential / performance development were included in the evaluation in 2019.

The sporting success was only included after the end of the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

In addition to performance at the Games, results in qualifying competitions and other pre-Olympic competitions such as European and World Championships were also taken into account.
