Chris Anker Sörensen's tragic fatal accident shakes Denmark and above all the TV channel TV2 where Anker Sörensen was a popular cycling commentator and employee.
Ahead of today's initial tempo race in the WC, the channel would have made its broadcast on site in Belgium, but after the accident, production will be moved home to Odense in Denmark.
- We have told all our employees in Belgium that they will not work (on Sunday).
We are able to handle the surveillance from Odense, says John Jäger, head of bicycle surveillance at TV2 Sport.
The channel has also offered its broadcasters on site in Belgium crisis support, and has given them the message that they can decide for themselves whether they want to stay or go home.
