The English Champions League winners FC Chelsea with the German coach Thomas Tuchel scored their next victory in the Premier League on matchday five.

The Londoners won 3-0 (0-0) at local rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The 36-year-old defender Thiago Silva headed (49th minute), N'Golo Kanté with a deflected shot from around 20 meters (57th) and the German national defender Antonio Rüdiger scored for Chelsea in stoppage time.

The Blues, in which national player Kai Havertz also played from the start, had to do without their ailing goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

For the Senegalese, the Spaniard Kepa Arrizabalaga stood between the posts, who with a transfer fee of 80 million euros is still the most expensive goalkeeper in football history, but mostly sits on the bench at Chelsea.

Timo Werner, who has played a joker role since Lukaku's arrival, came into play for Havertz and missed the preliminary decision several times after 78 minutes.

Chelsea are still unbeaten this season and have won six out of seven competitive games, including the European Supercup.

Due to the success at the Spurs, the Blues drew level with the league leaders Liverpool FC on points and goals.

Before kick-off, both teams and the audience in the stadium thought of English World Champion Jimmy Greaves, who died on Sunday, with minutes of applause. Tottenham's record scorer, who played for Spurs for eleven years, began his career at Chelsea. In both clubs, Greaves set the records for the most league goals within one season - 41 for Chelsea (1960/61) and 37 for Tottenham (1962/63).
