Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola returned to his shot with the Algerian star Riyad Mahrez during the match against Leipzig in the German Champions League and talked about his relationship with Mahrez.

Guardiola appeared during the match, directing instructions to Mahrez in a sharp manner, and sparked controversy between those who considered it an insult to the Algerian star, and others confirmed that it was a natural behavior of a coach towards his player.

Guardiola said after that match that he spoke with Mahrez and his colleague Jack Grealish in a sharp manner because they did not follow the instructions that I asked them to do between the two halves of the match.

On Friday, Guardiola returned to that snapshot, and talked about his relationship with Mahrez - during a press conference - and said, "5 or 6 seasons together, Riyad knows me well. The reaction - at that moment - I do every day in training sessions. My behavior is the same every day." .

He added, in the statements reported by Manchester Evening News, "I love working with Riyad, as he is a man who accepts everything and bears his responsibility, such as the penalty kick in the Dortmund match before qualifying for the Champions League semi-finals for the second time in our history, and the penalty kick. Against Leipzig which was one of the best penalties I've ever seen."

A game that had it all!

The Spanish coach revealed that he told Mahrez and Grealish the same thing between the two halves, and said, "We talked about one action they must do and he and Jack did not do it. They had to do it, otherwise Leipzig - who scored 3 goals - would have scored 5 or 6 goals. In those Now, it's not the time to be nice, we have to do what we have to do. I know they accept that."

The match ended with Manchester City winning 6-3, and both Mahrez and Grealish scored the goals.
