Arminia Bielefeld and TSG Hoffenheim have not been able to end their lean periods.

While Arminia continued to wait for their first win of the season after the 0-0 start in an entertaining duel on Saturday after the 5th matchday, TSG remained without three points for the fourth time in a row after the 4-0 kick-off at FC Augsburg.

Both teams are in the lower half of the table with four (Bielefeld) and five (Hoffenheim) points.

Both clubs now face difficult tasks in the struggle for a turnaround: Arminia has to compete at Union Berlin on September 25 and then against Bayer Leverkusen on German Unity Day.

Hoffenheim will have VfL Wolfsburg as their next Champions League participant and will then have to go to VfB Stuttgart.

Sebastian Hoeneß made five changes to the starting line-up in his 50th competitive game as TSG coach as a reaction to the game against Mainz 05.

Pavel Kaderabek in defense, Florian Grillitsch, Diadie Samassékou and Christoph Baumgartner in midfield, and Ilhas Bebou at the top all played from the start.

The guests showed their commitment right from the start, but “a lot better”, as requested by the trainer, did not go well.

Above all, a lack of coordination and technical errors led to highly dangerous scenes.

After less than three minutes, Bielefeld's Patrick Wimmer missed a cross from Fabian Klos in front of the goal line and thus the lead.

A few minutes later, the Bielefeld fans were screaming again when Robin Hack hit the post after a pass from Wimmer from 16 meters (10th).

The greatest possibility then left Klos when the striker hit a hook after Wimmer's preparatory work and missed the goal despite a clear path.

After all, TSG showed their offensive qualities despite these worrying gaps.

Jakob Bruun Larsen (7th), Andrej Kramaric (15th and 30th), Christoph Baumgartner (21st) and Bebou (42nd) had good opportunities in an entertaining first half.

After the change, it was mainly the guests who set the offensive accents, especially since they appeared a little more confident than in the first 45 minutes.

But Kramaric (47th and 57th) or the substitute Sargis Adamyan (58th) could not use promising situations.

Alessandro Schöpf just missed the Hoffenheim goal with a long-range shot (89th).

Overall, however, both teams lacked the brilliant ideas in the second half.
