The Secretary-General of the Cycling Federation, Yasser Al-Doukhi, praised the new beginning of the cycling season, and the huge number of participants in the first local race organized by the federation, which was in the city of Nizwa in Sharjah, and witnessed the participation of 176 cyclists of both sexes, from various categories, noting that “the cycling season is on a date with a boom.” Big in the new season with the adoption of the electronic arbitration system instead of manual, for all races of the season.”

Al-Doukhi told "Emirates Today": "We were surprised by the criticism of the first race of the new season, knowing that the race is without points, and all teams learned that, and the purpose was to allow the largest number of participants to be in the first race."

He added: “The start was delayed 35 minutes due to the delay in the arrival of the police cars to secure the race, so the general referee postponed the start in the interest of the safety of the participants.

There was an objection from after the participants in the amateur teams, before the names of the winners were announced, so we asked to postpone the results of the amateur teams, provided that honoring be done in the next race, in the interest of the federation so that everyone does not wait for a long time in a high temperature.

Al-Doukhi continued: "All the results that came out were correct, and we announced this on the second day, and the delay in announcing the results was simple to prevent mistakes, which is known and occurs in any bicycle race."
