Liverpool defeats Milan, and Mohamed Salah is close to breaking Samuel Eto'o's record

Liverpool defeated its Italian guest, AC Milan, 3/2, today, Wednesday, in the first round of Group B of the European Football Championship, which witnessed a goalless draw between Atletico Madrid of Spain and its guest, Porto, of Portugal.

Liverpool advanced through a goal scored by Milan defender Fikayo Tomori in the ninth minute, before the Croatian Ante Rebic scored the equalizer for Milan in the 42nd minute.

The Italian team ended the first half in its favour, after Spaniard Brahim Diaz scored the second goal in the 44th minute.

In the 49th minute, Mohamed Salah scored the equalizer for Liverpool, before Jordan Henderson scored the winning goal in the 69th minute with a powerful shot that shook the Italian team.

The match saw Mohamed Salah miss a penalty kick in the 12th minute, his first with the English team since he missed another kick against Huddersfield Town in 2017.

With his goal, scored in the 49th minute, Salah continued to score with Liverpool for the third consecutive game this season, consolidating his record as the all-time top scorer for Liverpool in the Champions League with 26 goals.

Salah reached the 29th goal in his career in the Champions League with all the teams he played for (Swiss Basel, Chelsea, and Rome, Italy), where he scored a goal with Basel, two goals with Roma and 26 goals with Liverpool.

Salah has one goal left to equal the number of Cameroonian Samuel Eto'o, who is ranked second as the most African player to score in European competitions, led by Ivorian Didier Drogba with 44 goals.
