Hwang Seon-hong was appointed as the new commander of the under-23 soccer team led by Kim Hak-beom.

Hwang prepares for the Asian Games next year and the Paris Olympics three years later.

Shortly after the Tokyo Olympics, former Daejeon coach Hwang Seon-hong was appointed as the head coach of the under-23 national team, which became vacant due to the expiration of Kim Hak-beom's contract.

The contract period is until the 2024 Paris Olympics, but after the Hangzhou Asian Games in September next year, it has been decided whether to continue the contract through an interim evaluation.

Hwang, who led the K-League Busan, Pohang, and Seoul, and lifted the trophy four times, took the helm of the national team for the first time.

Next month, he will make his debut in the under-23 Asian Cup qualifiers.
