Here, Helander wins the match in Old Firm

Moves in months

In this weekend's league match against St. Johnstone, Helander was forced to a change after 77 minutes.

He should have surgery at the beginning of the week.

- I have not had the opportunity to talk to "Fil" after the operation, but I will do it as soon as possible to see how he feels physically and mentally.

It is difficult to set a time for when he can return, but it is at least a few months, says Gerrard.

Helander, who played the World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Kosovo in March, suffered an injury in the spring, managed to rehabilitate himself in time for the European Championship finals but had to settle for a short jump in the championship.

But now he is back on the league captain's injury list.

- Sad message for us but above all for Filip.

We hope that Filip's rehabilitation goes well, says Janne Andersson in a statement to SVT Sport.

Takes out the squad in 13 days

Marcus Danielson took his place instead of Victor Nilsson Lindelöf.

In the World Cup qualifiers against Spain and Greece, Helander was back in the starting eleven.

His injury is a heavy setback for the national team in the continued World Cup qualifiers, where Kosovo and Greece will be at home at Friends arena in a month.

On September 28, Janne Andersson takes the squad to the matches.
