A comparison between Mohamed Salah and Al-Khatib raises controversy in Egypt

The past few hours witnessed a state of widespread controversy in the football field inside Egypt, following the success of the Egyptian international Liverpool player, Mohamed Salah, in scoring his 100th goal in the "Reds" shirt.

Large numbers of Al-Ahly fans put up a "hashtag" in which the club's president, Mahmoud Al-Khatib, is classified as the legend of Egyptian football, no matter how much Mohamed Salah has achieved, whether with the Egyptian national team, or Liverpool FC.

The state of controversy moved from social networking sites to television channels, especially the Zamalek Club channel, which confirmed, in the words of the former White Castle player Khaled Al-Ghandour, that the numbers that Mohamed Salah made for himself confirm that he is the best player in the history of Egyptian football.

Khaled Al-Ghandour said: "Mohamed Salah played in the World Cup, and won the Champions League with Liverpool, and Al-Khatib did not do any of that, so how is he compared to Al-Khatib?"

While the former Zamalek player, Ahmed Abdel Halim, also confirmed that Mohamed Salah will remain a symbol of Egyptian football with his achievements and numbers, and that what he did in his professional career will be difficult for any Egyptian player to achieve at least during the next 100 years.
