Fans of the European Football Cup will have to spend a lot of money in the new season.

In order to have free choice in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League, which start with the group stage this week, three subscriptions are required.

What is there of the Champions League on free TV?

ZDF is again allowed to show moving pictures from the premier class.

Until 2018, the station had shown one game per game day for six years, now the second can broadcast the finals live and also highlights.

According to ZDF, long summaries of the games of the German teams will be shown on a total of 14 match days under the name “Sportstudio UEFA Champions League”.

The program also includes "excerpts and highlights from the other games on Tuesday and Wednesday".

Where are the live games going?

Sky no longer has the Champions League in its program, DAZN and Amazon have offered UEFA more money.

This means that you still need two subscriptions in order not to miss anything, but it is cheaper compared to previous years.

DAZN shows almost all games, the paid streaming service has purchased a package with a total of 121 live games and is also allowed to show conferences.

Internet retailer Amazon is new to the premier class and is making its Champions League debut after a brief Bundesliga interlude.

Amazon customers can watch the top game on Tuesday via the Prime Video offer.

At the start of the group phase, there is the game of FC Bayern Munich at FC Barcelona.

Then the games of Borussia Dortmund against Sporting Lisbon (September 28) and at Ajax Amsterdam (October 19).

All other games run at DAZN.

Which experts are in use?

DAZN and Amazon have saved no expense or effort in engaging prominent experts.

The sports streaming service has extended the contract with ex-national player Sandro Wagner and also hired Ralf Rangnick as an expert and co-commentator.

The 63-year-old soccer teacher will have his own section (“Decoded”) and will be in action for the first time on the 2nd matchday in the game between Bayern Munich and Dynamo Kiev.

Amazon has reactivated Matthias Sammer, who last worked on TV for Eurosport's Bundesliga guest appearance.

The team of experts also includes TV newcomer Mario Gomez.

Who moderates and comments?

DAZN has recruited Laura Wontorra from RTL as a presenter and supplemented the existing team of commentators with former Sky employees Michael Born and Holger Pfandt, among others.

Amazon works primarily with loan staff from Sky: Jonas Friedrich is the commentator on Prime Video, Sebastian Hellmann moderates.

What can fans see in pubs?

Fans should inform themselves beforehand in their local bars, because restaurateurs need two contracts in the new season.

Sky has no rights of its own, but after an agreement with Amazon offers 16 live games in its contracts with sports bars.

Bars that want to show their customers the rest of the games need another contract with DAZN.

According to its own information, the streaming service has not extended the expired cooperation agreement with Sky.

Who shows Europa and Conference League?

RTL is the television home of the Europa League and the new Conference League with rights to 282 games.

The games of the two competitions will be shown on RTL, on the niche channel Nitro and on the in-house streaming service TVNow, which will be called RTL + in the future.

Eight top games will be shown there on different channels on every match day, four games at the early kick-off time at 6.45 p.m. and four games at 9 p.m.

In any case, games with German participation should be among the eight games.

Experts include Karl-Heinz Riedle and Lukas Podolski, moderators are Laura Papendick and Anna Kraft.

What do the subscriptions cost?

DAZN has increased the price for the new season. The streaming service costs 14.99 euros per month. To see the premier class on Amazon Prime Video, you have to pay 7.99 euros per month. TVNow charges 4.99 euros per month for its offer. For a season pass, the fan at TVNow has to transfer a total of 34.99 euros for ten months.
