The Government Games Organizing Committee said that in accordance with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the need for a gradual return to normal life, and under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, The third edition of the "Government Games" will be launched during the period from 9 to 11 December, confirming Dubai's position and its capabilities to deal efficiently with the current exceptional global situation, and its great keenness to resume sports activities as well as encourage community members to practice them.

A press release said: "With an exceptional version, the first of its kind, the government games add a new category to the community challenge in addition to the category of government agencies, as it will for the first time open the way for various societal groups of citizens and residents throughout the UAE to participate in the games, in order to enhance the concept of teamwork and broadcast Positive spirit and community harmony, in addition to enriching the spirit of competition and challenge between teams.

On this occasion, Director of Government Games Marwan bin Issa said: “Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, we announce the launch of the third edition of the Government Games during the period from 9 to 11 December, and we are pleased to present a special challenge to members of society as a new category that allows the participation of The general public from all over the country, based on what we saw from the public’s desire during the previous two sessions, as the referendums showed the public’s aspiration to participate in the challenges, which would increase the spirit of enthusiasm, stimulate competition and increase participation from various segments of society.

He added, "This year's championship comes in a different context, as it was decided to organize the event in Dubai Design District D3, one of the most vital areas in Dubai, with its open spaces and various facilities," noting the commitment of the organizing committee to implement the preventive and precautionary measures approved by the Supreme Committee for Management. Crises and disasters in the Emirate of Dubai, to preserve the safety of the participating teams and audiences in order to achieve a new success added to the record of previous government games, which witnessed a wide turnout from local, regional and international participation.

During the past sessions, the government games enjoyed wide local and international participation. In the first session, 90 men's teams and 64 women's teams participated in a total of 154 teams. More than 300 volunteers and 22,000 fans participated in the organization of the event. While 168 teams participated in the second cycle, 106 men's teams and 62 women's teams, with the participation of 540 volunteers who worked to make the event a success. A group of international teams participated in the previous two sessions, including teams: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Armenia, Thailand, and others, where international participation had an impact on raising the level of competition. The third edition of the Government Games Championship will be held with its unique challenges that combine physical strength, mental abilities and strategic thinking to ensure the greatest enthusiasm and competition among the participating teams, under the supervision and organization of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council.

The Organizing Committee announced the start of registration for participation in government games and receiving applications for participation from government agencies, whether local or federal, in addition to registering the teams participating in the community challenge, which has its own character.

In order to increase the spirit of suspense and competition, it was decided to subject the community teams to the qualifying stage, during which a number of teams will qualify to participate in the tournament, during the period from September 15 to October 30.
