Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo led Manchester United to a precious 4-1 victory over Newcastle United at Old Trafford, in his first match with the team in his second period in the English Premier League today, Saturday.

The player scored the first goal in the 45th minute from a good follow-up to a rebound from goalkeeper Freddy Woodman after Mason Greenwood's shot, Ronaldo shook the net from close range.

Bruno Fernandes strengthened Manchester United's lead by scoring the third goal in the 80th minute, and Jesse Lingard ended the quartet just before the end.

United raised its score to 10 points to lead the Premier League temporarily, while Newcastle's balance stopped at one point in 17th place.

Ronaldo, 36, spent 6 seasons at United between 2003 and 2009, crowned 8 major titles, and returned to the team from Juventus last month after spending 3 seasons in Italy.

The Portuguese star scored 118 goals with the English club in his first period before moving to Real Madrid, with whom he won 4 Champions League titles.
