While Peder Fredricson rode a major competition already the week after the Tokyo Olympics in August and also participated in the European Championships last week, Malin Baryard Johnsson has taken it easy.

But now she's back - as the winner.

The performance was not diminished by the rain suddenly pouring down over the competition arena, but it was the Swede who was best at mastering Rome in the rain on the horse Indiana.

-I'm so proud of her.

I am so happy to be able to ride the probably best horse in the world, says Baryard Johnsson to Global Champions TV immediately after the victory.

With the victory, she is ready for the super final of the Global Champions Tour in Prague in November.

- It means a lot, of course, but it means a lot to just win here, she says.

Baryard Johnsson was one of eleven flawless riders who went on to jump in the money-winning Global Champions Tour competition.

Once there, she showed proof of the speed that contributed to the team gold in the Olympics.

With a time of 36.74, she was just over a second faster than the German Christian Ahlmann in second place.

- She just jumps better and better and in the jump I just felt… I must not miss this!

But today it was not possible to beat us, she is really in super shape and when she jumps like this they are easy to be riders, says Malin Baryard Johnsson to SVT Sport.

Two more Swedes were faultless and took part in the jump-off.

Henrik von Eckermann came fifth on his Olympic horse King Edward, just before Evelina Tovek, who finished sixth on Winnetou de la Hamente Z.

Peder Fredricson was also in Rome, but he came first in 36th place in the first round on Christian K and missed the final.

Indiana impressed a lot all weekend

Baryard Johnson and Indiana have really impressed in the comeback in Rome, in the classes even before tonight's GP victory.

Yesterday they started with a second place 1.55-jumping against the clock with 47 starting crews.

A podium place that also meant a second place overall for Baryard Johnsson together with his teammate in the Shanghai Swans, German Christian Ahlmann, in the first team competition Global Champions League.

The duo backed up the initial podium place in the team competition with a victory today just a few hours before the Grand Prix class.

- I already felt on Thursday in the warm-up that she went in and jumped incredibly well, which was nice because you never know exactly where you stand after a little rest.

But she is in at least as good shape as in Tokyo, says Baryard Johnson.
