Frida Karlsson and other Swedish ladies believe that it is offensive that men and women go different long distances.

The Norwegian ski queen Therese Johaug also wants a longer distance, 50 km, on the women's side.

- Of course I say "yes, thank you" to that.

But I get the blame from you (media) afterwards because I ruin the sport as there will be bigger differences.

I do not know what people want, says Johaug with a smile to NRK.

Countryman Tiril Udnes Weng, however, has a different opinion.

She believes that the ladies are weaker, slower and have poorer endurance.

Weng therefore thinks it's okay for the ladies to go shorter.

"Poor Therese"

- I do not feel discriminated against.

On the contrary, she tells NRK.

What does she think if the ladies walk 50 miles?

- It would have been boring to watch.

At least five miles.

And poor Therese, she has to walk three hours alone.

I do not think that is the way to create more interest in cross-country skiing.

The ladies currently drive 30 km on the long distance.
