[Explanation] The final of the 14th National Games Surfing Competition kicked off on September 8 at Riyue Bay, Wanning, Hainan. 50 athletes from 13 national surfing teams will compete for 2 gold medals.
This surfing competition is one of the 35 major events of the 14th National Games, and it is also the first time that Hainan Province has undertaken a National Games event.
The competition is divided into two sub-items of men's shortboard and women's shortboard.
[Explanation] Wang Yun, deputy director of the Water Sports Management Center of the State Sports General Administration, said that surfing started late in China and this competition is also the first time that surfing is listed as a National Games event.
It is hoped that through the events, the multiple functions and comprehensive values of the National Games will be fully utilized, and surfing talents will be cultivated and discovered, and the comprehensive strength of surfing in China will be improved.
[Explanation] It is understood that surfing competitions have high requirements for wave conditions and competition skills, and there are many uncertainties.
In order to win the first surfing gold medal in the history of the National Games in one fell swoop, the participating teams have also made sufficient preparations.

We are an inland province and there are no waves.
We have been in Hainan since the establishment of the team, eating and living, and invested a lot of (energy) training in Hainan Province.
Because this surfing entered the National Games for the first time, the first gold, everyone is looking forward to this gold medal.
We will work hard and go all out to play this game well.
[Explanation] Qiu Zhuo, an athlete of the Hainan surfing team who is under 20 years old, has been "sprinting age" for many years and can be regarded as a "senior player" in the domestic surfing industry.
He looks forward to constantly practicing himself in the competitions and eventually winning glory for the country in the Olympics.

The ultimate goal is to enter the Olympics, and the goal set for yourself can still enter the WCT, which is the top surfing world tour.
Then in the first 42, it is a closed circuit, so if you can get to that position, (participating) in the Olympics is completely fine.
