"Snowball" threatens the Sudanese Mars' journey in the African Champions

The scope of the administrative crisis experienced by the Sudanese Al-Merreikh club expanded 24 hours before the start of the team's journey in the African Champions League competition, which will bring it together on the evening of "Friday" with its Ugandan Express competitor in the first leg of the preliminary round of the African competition.

While the team’s players in the capital Kampala are concluding their preparations at Saint Mary Kittende Stadium, the club’s administrative crisis in Khartoum warns that the “snowball” will roll and grow in the coming hours, after the Football Association refused to adopt the results of the elections that were organized during the week. The current club has two headquarters and two different memberships, which resulted in the announcement of the current club president, Adam Sudkal, winning a new term, while the other general assembly announced the victory of Hazem Mustafa as the club’s presidency.

The board of directors of the Sudanese Football Association decided, at its meeting on Wednesday evening, to freeze dealings with either of the two councils, and that the official communication in the current period is with the CEO of Al-Merreikh Club only.

Although the Football Association did not recognize either of the two councils, the council led by Adam Sudkal continued his work in supervising the African team’s match, and contented himself with issuing a press statement clarifying the soundness of his position on the electoral process and his affirmation of continuing in his position: “The club’s general assembly said its word and was elected The Mars Council is in a remarkable electoral general assembly... which was supervised by the club's elected election committee.

On the other hand, the Council of Hazem Mustafa issued a decision to form a quadripartite committee that includes the First Vice President Mohamed Sayed Ahmed, the Vice President for Finance and Investment, Major General Noureddine Abdel Wahab, along with Badria Abdullah Al-Nour and Major General Hisham Doronki, to receive the facilities of the Mars Club and all fixed and mobile assets. Files, stamps, bank accounts, accounting books, all contracts for players, employees, workers, rents, and all archived active files.

Al-Marikh players will have to put the administrative crisis facing the club behind them and come out with a positive result from the “Friday” confrontation, before the decisive return meeting that will be held on Friday, September 17, at Al Hilal Stadium in the capital, Khartoum.
