Swedish elite football with the clubs in the Allsvenskan and the Superettan in the back, was united in the issue.

The Swedish national team should not put on its January tour in Qatar.

- We had a dialogue with the union and Håkan Sjöstrand both yesterday, and this morning.

We found quite quickly that it will be difficult for the national team to have a training camp in Qatar, says Jens T Andersson to SVT Sport.

The reason is that the clubs did not want to release any players to the national team at a camp in Qatar - and then the association backed down.

- There is a good relationship between Sef and the Swedish Football Association before.

This camp was also in the planning stage, as it is outside the Fifa date.

And then our impact was quite large.

The January camp is always based on collaboration with the elite clubs and I was quite clear on the issue based on the mandate I had with me, says Jens T Andersson.

- We have had a good dialogue and we came to the conclusion that the training camp may be located elsewhere, Andersson continues.

The Sef members with representatives from the clubs in the Allsvenskan and the Superettan were clear on the issue.

- We made a membership decision yesterday, and there was total agreement that Qatar was not the right place to go, says Jens T Andersson.
