Fans of visiting teams are allowed to attend matches in Europe

The European Football Association (UEFA) announced yesterday that it will allow fans of visiting teams to be in stadiums during continental competitions, starting next week.


And UEFA notified, during a workshop with all clubs participating in the Champions League, that it would not extend the decision to prevent the fans of visiting teams from attending the matches, according to the German club, Borussia Dortmund.

And according to (UEFA), five percent of the capacity of any stadium will be allocated to accommodate the fans of the visiting team, despite that, local restrictions and travel requirements in force, and any decisions related to the return of fans will be made by the local authorities in each country.

For example, Dortmund announced that it would not receive any tickets for its first Champions League match against Besiktas in Istanbul, Turkey on September 15, while the visiting fans in Turkey are not allowed to attend.

UEFA also decided to exempt all those who have received a vaccine against the emerging corona virus or who have recovered from the virus, from the need to prove negative results of their examination to enter the matches.
