Swedish chances
Expert Gunilla Byström: - Expectations and what I think is that Sweden can get top 5 in the team competition.
Legally, Sweden's is the best chance.
Ramel and NIlshagen are the most established, have the best results and are the ones you can hope for the most.
I hope three Swedes go to the special and two to the freestyle.
Swedish missing
Swedish dressage star Patrik Kittel is missing in the European Championships.
Kittel and Well Done de la Roche are the best ranked Swedish carriages but the horse is injured and also missed the Olympics.
Kittel's other horses were not qualified in time for the European Championships and are therefore not allowed to start.
- Otherwise, Kittel would have gotten a place every day of the week.
He has two fantastic horses that both had been placed in the team but it does not help because they are not qualified in time.
Favorites
Expert Gunilla Byström: - In the team competition, I think Germany is unbeatable.
If you look at the press on the top three in each team, Germany is well above the other teams.
Great Britain and Denmark come after Germany.
If everyone rode on pers, Sweden could be four.
- Individually, Germany is also very sharp.
Jessica von Bredow-Werndl has the same horse she won all classes with at the Olympics.
Frequent championships
Four weeks between two championships, the Olympics and the European Championships, is an unusually short time.
It affects the conditions according to the expert.
- Different for different nations.
Many start their Olympic horses and many do not.
How far have you had to transport the horses and how have you taken the journey from Tokyo?
If you live near Hagen in Germany, the next transport will not be so long.
