The Brazil-Argentina match .. an official statement from “FIFA” about its fate

The expected match between the two South American football giants Brazil and Argentina, including the exciting confrontation between the new old teammates Lionel Messi and Neymar, was not destined to last more than a few minutes in Sao Paulo on Sunday in the South American qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, due to a violation of Corona virus protocols.

Only five minutes after the start of the match, representatives from the health authorities stormed the stadium, which led to a major controversy, after which the Argentine players entered the dressing room and did not return to the field, which led to the match being stopped permanently.

The South American Confederation (CONMEBOL) issued a statement on Twitter saying, "By a decision of the referee, the match between Brazil and Argentina has been suspended. The referee has submitted his report to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, which will take a decision on the next steps to be taken."

This was followed by another statement from the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA), in which it confirmed that this match, which falls within the framework of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, "was stopped by a decision of the referee", without indicating whether it will be held on another date or not.

The aim of the entry of the health authorities was to demand the withdrawal of three players from the starting lineup of the Argentine national team as a result of their presence in England in the last 14 days preceding their arrival in Brazil, and therefore they must be quarantined.
