"FIFA" is investigating the match between Brazil and Argentina... and Infantino: "The scenes are crazy!"

The International Football Association Board (FIFA) has launched disciplinary investigations into the match between the Brazilian and Argentine teams in the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, which was halted on Sunday evening amid comical circumstances.

Today, Monday, FIFA said: "FIFA regrets the scenes before the match between Brazil and Argentina in the CONMEBOL (Confederation of American Football) qualifiers... which prevented millions of fans from enjoying a match between two of the most important football teams in the world."

He added: "The first reports of the match have been sent to FIFA, and the information will be analyzed by the relevant disciplinary committees, provided that the decision is taken in a timely manner."

Play was suspended six minutes after the start of the match in Sao Paulo, as representatives of the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (Anifsa) tried to remove Argentine national team players residing in the United Kingdom, claiming to violate the quarantine rules related to the emerging Corona virus pandemic.

And Anifsa agency reported before the match that the professional quartet in the English Premier League, Emiliano Martinez, Emiliano Buendia, Christian Romero and Giovanni Lo Celso, had been instructed to undergo quarantine in the past 14 days due to their residence in the United Kingdom, which is listed on the red list in Brazil.

Speaking during a meeting of the European Club Association (Eica) in Geneva, FIFA President Gianni Infantino said, "The scenes were crazy. But we have to deal with these challenges that come in the context of the Corona virus crisis."
