Sweden got the start they wanted when Robin Quaison's input was controlled in goal by the Uzbek defender Abdulla Abudllajev.

The Swedes did not impress, but half an hour later Jesper Karlsson found Isaac Kiese Thelin with an input and 2-0 was a fact.

The goal was the 29-year-old's first in the national team since a Nations League match against Turkey in October 2018.

62 minutes into the game, Quaison had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide.

Shortly after that, Janne Andersson made a triple change where Daniel Sundgren replaced Mattias Johansson on the right back.

Thus, Sundgren made his debut in the national team.

With 20 minutes left to play, the reduction came when Uzbekistan's star Eldor Smourodov, on a daily basis in Italian Roma, came free and put the ball behind Kristoffer Nordfeldt.

Shortly afterwards, midfielder Joakim Nilsson had a good header on the corner, but missed the goal.

Right at the end, Sweden had a couple more chances - Jesper Karlsson on a free kick and Carl Starfelt on a header - but they did not manage to extend the lead.

The international match against Uzbekistan was interrupted between two important World Cup qualifiers.

On Thursday they beat Spain at home and on Wednesday they meet Greece away.
