IFK Gothenburg now announces on its website that Kolbeinn Sigthorsson will not participate in the A-team's activities.
He will therefore not train, play matches or take part in other activities.
The club is also conducting an investigation.
"An internal investigation is underway to be able to make a decision on the way forward for IFK Gothenburg as an employer and personally for Kolbeinn," they write.
